  1. The Digit Game

    January 8, 2016 by amorsell

I love playing this game with my students because it has them apply so many math skills that we have learned. Each child must draw three cards from the pile. Then they must arrange their cards to show the largest three digit number. The person with the larger number gets to keep the cards. When there are no more cards left in the pile each child counts their winning cards. The person with the most cards wins. There are so many variations to this game. It is a fun way to practice place value and number sense. Have fun playing. DSCN6623 DSCN6625

  2. Global Read Aloud

    October 21, 2015 by amorsell

Our class is participating in the Global Read Aloud. We recently finished the book, It’s Not Fair, by Amy Krouse Rosenthal. We are just loving all of her books! We are so thrilled to be apart of her author study that is sponsored by the Global Read Aloud. This book was especially fun because we got to discuss all of the unfair things that happen in our lives. We also discussed how we can pro actively make those unfair situations better. Take a look at our web about things that are not fair. Please feel free to comment. Tell us things that are not fair in your life and how you deal with it.DSCN6450

  9. Reading Centers

    November 5, 2014 by amorsell

The children are working hard on their morning centers. One group is listening to a book on tape. Another group is making as many words as they can using the letters from our amazing word rehearsal. Another group is playing 4 in a row with the long a words. Morning centers are so much fun! The children love working together.
