Equivalent Names

I was so impressed with my students during math today because they were able to incorporate the Spanish number words and multiplication facts that they learned to our new concept, equivalent names. I love when they can cross disciplines with what they have learned.

Celebrating Differences

Every year as a part of our first grade community time we make gingerbread men that are unique to each person. The children must follow a code to figure out what their gingerbread will look like. We use these gingerbread men to discuss our similarities and our differences. It is a very fun project and one of my favorite bulletin boards.

Chinese New Year
